Baby Bird Animation Props - Butterfly!

Well, I began production on a live action short called Hotel Motel and before I could finish that I have been commissioned to make a short film called Baby Bird for the Exeter Phoenix.

I have made a start on making a butterfly for the stop motion sequences. My first time so figuring it out as I go. Sculpey , wire and cotton wool.

Printed photos of butterfly wings onto acetate. Not as good an effect as I hoped but gonna try airbrushing and texturing them with spray adhesive. They don't have to look good to the eye, only the camera.

Experimenting with use split pins and bolts as a dainty solution of wing joints.
